Summary: Written for the legacy challenge. Drabble. Ivanova’s thoughts before her first broadcast as the voice of the resistance.


She had generations behind her, warm-blooded ancestry and detail, story, legend and pride. It was in her bones, the ability to resist--the Russian, the female officer, the commander, the telepath in her. The side of her that had loved Marcus and at the same time, loved Talia. And did love her. And would.

She had skill instructing her, Bolshevik, militarist, natural righteously-angry aggressor and she’d be damned if that sadist of a pretender president Clark would rattle her foundations.

She had ability guiding her, iron nails and eiderdown and character.

Resolutely, Ivanova lifted the microphone and began the broadcast.

What does this scene lead up to? (mind I've only seen a little of b5, and know some of the storyline.)

It leads up to Ivanova's first broadcast as the voice of the resistance against President Clark's government. Only one broadcast was ever shown on camera, and it definitely wasn't the first one... playing into the backstory a bit.
