Doesn't have the same kind of ring to it as invasion Iowa does, really.... :)

Anyway, forensicsy update behind the snippet, and a few other things as well.

Anyway, despite the snowstorm thingie that knocked us all sideways on Thursday and screwed with classes and roads and blind peoples' navigating abilities in all the mess, we rolled out Friday morning and headed to river Falls which is way out beyond Eau Claire and even beyond Stout if you can believe it. Ten people in a fifteen passenger van, woohoo! And never mind the people-eating seatbelts of evil and doom (tM). Really, they were!

Bosco didn't go along on this trip because originally we thought there'd be twelve people going, and twelve people in a van plus a labbydog just... wouldn't've worked. that and I needed a little time off just to be Charlie without the ever-present fuzzball, lovable though he is. and I know I said this over the course of the trip more than once, but it was really nice not to have to worry about assorted dealing with dog things. Apparently the Eau Claire team missed him though, which made me go aww *melts* when I found out. Not sure if he's coming to Sorber/Ripon, though it's looking like not since Mom's going to be in the area on Friday and can probably swing through and get him. And yes, Janine, when I got him back sunday noonish I was just about bowled over. Labs are such dolls.

Anyway, this weekend was seriously a blast. I realized how much I'd missed being on the circuit when I noticed that things weren't even slightly awkward. Yay! We're a fairly close group, have been since I've known the team but this year we're even closer than previous seasons. I have my suspicions on why but I'll keep those to myself in case... well in case. We're close enough that I wound up admitting something Friday night after the first rounds for two of the three flights, triggered in part by everything getting talked about on the way up *cough* "Pull it together chloe, you are a sex columnist" *cough*... that and the Kissing Jessica Stein duo piece that ended up winning it's category. Triggery, yes it was. And if I admitted it there I can admit it here, since there are loads of people on my friendslist who I'm just as close to but through a different medium--hello, SouCon. and if anybody is completely squicked by this admission and wants to defriend me... well yeah. At least tell me why first hm? To make a really long story a little less long, I finally admitted that I'm bisexual. Surprising, probably not. And nobody flipped, which was a pleasant surprise since I wasn't sure how it'd go over, even with the liberal attitudes on the team. The reaction was a chorus of decidedly un-shocked "Oh"s. Yay!

So we got back at around one-ish Sunday morning. Loooong couple days. And I went home and proceeded to crash. And I'm just now feeling normal after the trip--dunno if it was the two eighteen-hour days or what it was, but I was a pretty serious wreck. Among the highlights were my first experience eating crab legs (yum! but messy as all sharding heck), meeting all sorts of incredible new people and meeting up with a bunch of old friends--Kristine, James, Adam but not Allison and Tara sniff, and Shauna and Kate breaking into duo finals and ending up in sixth, and Shauna breaking into prose and taking third woo! And that New York Jewish accent? Spot on, seriously.

Yay spamation! Spam spam spam yum. :)

Anyhow. End spam. Just sorted out the exam I have tomorrow and an appointment time to get into Ambrose and get meds refilled. It was bad enough I forgot the sharding things Friday morning, now they run out! Oy! Now off to dry my hair.

Wow, I did the blindie school forensics deal spring of last year (end of my senior year in high school then.) I absolutely loved it, and I took gold in my category first ever (and last ever it seems) season out!

Just curious weather you do the college forensics team thing or what?

Hugs,
Laura

Yay for getting to know yourself and be comfortable with it. :) You're braver than I... I don't think I've ever admitted in my LJ that I'm bi. :)

And yay for fun! Glad you had a good weekend. We missed you, of course. :)

Took me awhile to admit it, too, but now that I have, it's fun. :) That's twice as many people to appreiciate! :D
