Don't you hate it when you get hit over the head with a brilliant but incomplete idea for something, and you're stuck squish in the middle of class?
Argh!
Still that same Colin-centric story, Sliders universe, and I've been surprised by a major plotbunny and can't do *squeak* with it because I'm going to have to leave in five minutes. Meew. Here's to writing later, I guess.
"Re... Re-verse." The attempt was a terrible one, and I knew it. Even through the ever-increasing haze that threatened my peripheral vision, through whatever was causing those flickering black spots to appear and disappear in front of my eyes, I knew I sounded horrible. "Reverse." That was better. Not perfect, but still intelligible, and with his powers of discernment being what they were, chances were he'd make out the word. But could he understand my meaning? "Mallory Colin," one last try, and my reverting to my original interpretation of the order of his name was a conscious shift. It was better that way anyway, more suited to him. What little was left of my voice ran out of me completely after that, and I was left staring into smoky grey eyes and battling the ever-increasing frequency of black patches that would obscure them. Don't take him by taking me...
Written from the point of view of Siro Lumi, original char. This's just a snippet of something much larger.
Oh good lord, that ran *so* away from me there.
