Here's some cuteness for everyone's day. I *melted* when I read this story this morning. I have reason. The 'settle in, then gently flop over, right onto someone's foot' maneuver is such a labby thing to do, it brought back memories of a certain velvet-furred lovebug who earned the descriptor mellow yellow for a reason. To a lab, there's no such thing as being standoffish; so what if the person next to you is the president? They seem nice, and their foot will probably make a good pillow. Ker-flop!

Had that been me, after the event was over, I would absolutely have asked if I could pet. Awwww. <3

I'd never heard of an "English Red Fox" lab before -- it's as red as a viszla, with a wider body and shorter legs than many labs I see (which are probably not AKC exemplars).

I'd heard of the coloration, but didn't think it was anything like a standard. I understood it to be more of a casual classification. I know some yellows can be such a dark color they're almost cinnamon; there was one of those in my guide dog school class. :) English lab has to do with build and size, that much I know. They're blocky. Mine was one, as opposed to a field lab, which are longer and leaner.

Definitely! I wish I could snuggle him. You know how it goes, hold the paw, pet the ears... probably get wagged at and sniffed. :)
