Also spoilers and speculation up through S5 ep 9.
EEEEE I was right! Nathalie is turning on Gabriel. Her reasons make sense, given her character; when Gabriel was presented with a viable means of fulfilling the desire he and she have been working toward, logical, intent Nathalie believed he'd take it, not accounting for Gabriel's obsession with besting Ladybug. And it was that obsession's distortion of their end goals that was Nathalie's boundary line. I wish it hadn't taken her this long to realize, but irrefutable evidence is precisely that. And what a spectacular turn she's made of it! Oh my goodness, she's told off Gabriel, twice! Did she actually back him against a wall the second time? And she's openly said, to his face, that the only reason she now stays is to protect Adrien from Gabriel himself. That doesn't even get to the akumatization, because yes, she requested it, but am I wrong, or is she out to make her *own* wish now? That was open defiance, and Gabriel, at least initially, didn't see it. Squee!
I'd still *love* to see her openly acting against him as Mayura, which would involve retrieval of the peafowl Miraculous and Duusu from Félix. Hmm. It's not impossible, and we (thank goodness!) haven't seen Nathalie renounce Duusu in canon. A retrieval could happen.
I haven't even mentioned the canon confirmed (!!!) detail of Émilie being satisfied and more with less than others believe she should be. What did I say about her and not having the desire for extravagance that her sister and Gabriel have? Squeeeee headcanon confirmed! :D And this absolutely links to her wanting to call off the search for the other Miraculous, while Gabriel doesn't. I can just *hear* her: "I have a Miraculous. I have Duusu. Why would I need anyone else?"
Now if they'd spend more time on the plot relevant details of the storylines and less on the 'oh come on, you two/four!' love square shenanigans, I'd be happy. Ugh.
