chanter1944First, I owe kellan_the_tabby some really decent hot chocolate or something, for the assist that answered a couple questions that were absolutely plaguing me! May you have zip zilch zero creepy facebook data mining demons on your tail as a result of that assist.
Second, I just had a work phone call where one thing led to another, led to the fact that the customer and I had both competed in forensics in Wisconsin throughout high school! Speech and debate nerds unite! We absolutely went to a couple of the same tournaments over the years, though in different categories, and I continued competition through college where she did not. We also have the same college degree, and both of us have used it in the past but aren't now. Oh my gosh this world is minuscule, and sometimes that's fantastic. :)
Wow, I miss forensics competition. If there were a semi-professional or professional circuit, I'd so be on it. I've said that for years. I know, poetry slams and open mic nights kiiiiinda sorta fit that bill, but they're not quite the same thing.

Can you recall favorite debates/speeches -- one where you sincerely advocated the point, and another where you were deploying your skills in the abstract cause the proposition lit no fires?
