I'm not entirely sure how to write this post up without being a) creepy or b) unaccountably sappy, so I'm just going to go for it.

So, circlethingie (and hopefully various others, if this gets traction), remember the other day, before I decamped to the marsh to decompress in the wake of the diarrhea storm that was last week's SCOTUS decision flurry? The post where I linked to a twitterly friend's PayPal and GoFundMe, as they're trying to make rent and basic necessities and struggling?

Well, darn it, the idea of someone getting evicted despite doing no wrong and working their tail off... it's bugging me and won't quit. So.

This is a wisteria drabble auction (they're in the deep south, and wisteria is at least friendly to one's sniffer).

Circlethingie and whoever else wants in, drop me a prompt in the comments (fandom if so desired, if you know I know it, rating preference or lack thereof, or just a keyword or two, whichever), donate $10 to them and let me know you have (you can totally DM me with that info, no need to float it in public), and I will write a drabble for you.

Feel free to link, if you like. The more who join in, the merrier. Please keep in mind that I will not write mental violation, forced intimacy, or humiliation/degradation. Transmisic, queerphobic, or anti-enby anything are also 'no way in heck' limits.

Let's fight some entropy, folks. Please?

And yes, this icon is a deliberateness.

Sent $20 via PayPal friends-and-family. Might I request a smidgen with either Alya and Trixx or Emilie and Duusu bonding?

$20.00 donation made.

Hmm. Are you familiar with Ms. Marvel yet? If you are, that would be a lovely source. Or your own Orange!verse.

thank you for posting to [community profile] fandom_on_dw, I'd meant to ask if this was still open once I got money and then I forgot, but now I have money

I have sent money; how do you feel about something along the same lines as "You Searched For: Most Recent Addition To The Columbia University Digital Archives Project"? not sure which historical wielder's correspondence or personal records (or what contemporary's correspondence or personal records mentioning the said historical wielder) I might want archivists' or historians' annotations on, though

we have canonical or deuterocanonical information on a bunch of Ladybug and Black Cat wielders and hardly any wielders of anything else, so I'm going to list off the whens and wheres of the ones we know about, and if any of those grab you, go for it, and if none of them do, feel free to make one up!

  1. the ancient Egyptian Ladybug wielder mentioned in the episode "The Pharaoh"
    • the fandom wiki calls her La Déesse Coccinelle and says she lived five thousand years ago, but the English dub puts her contemporary with Tutankhamen and the French dub with Akhenaten, who were both late Eighteenth Dynasty, circa 1353 to 1292 BCE between the two of them
    • fandom seems to call her Khepri?
    • in "ghost of a chance" (which runs off English dub), I called her Desher Kheperr when transformed and Iset when not, and her partner Kemi Meʻit when transformed; details that did not make it into the fic include that Iset is a baker and her partner is, in modern terms, either genderfluid or a trans woman, and in either event, when this Black Cat is in her ordinary-person identity, he is a scribe named Khnumhetep
    • but the deuterocanonical Black Cat design that goes with hers looks like her partner is supposed to be a man, so

  2. the ancient Chinese Ladybug wielder Piáo Chóng and Black Cat wielder Hēi Māo
    • I'm much more willing to believe five thousand years ago of these two, who are possibly the very first Miraculous wielders
    • it is entirely unclear whether they are contemporaries with any of the ancient Chinese wielders of Bee, Dragon, Eagle, Fox, Horse, Monkey, Peacock, Snake, or Turtle who we see in the grimoire

  3. the historical European Black Cat wielder whose painting is seen at the Louvre during the episode "Feast"
    • who may or may not also be the black knight who is mentioned in the episode "Darkblade" as D'Argencourt's ancestor
    • who may or may not also be contemporary with and an associate of Jeanne d'Arc
    • who may or may not also be either Bertrand de Poulengy or Gilles de Rais, who are presumably the real-life historical figures she named in the episode "Ephemeral"

  4. Ladybug wielder Jeanne d'Arc herself

  5. the historical European Butterfly wielder whose painting is also in the episode "Feast"

  6. ancient Mediterranean Ladybug wielder Hippolyta, the Amazon queen famously involved in one of the twelve labors of Heracles
    • Herakles is probably the corresponding Black Cat wielder; this would be one of the go-rounds that's either enemies-to-lovers or simply enemies
    • in "ghost of a chance" I invented the Turtle wielder Khelṓnē, figuring her for one of Hippolyta's Amazons

  7. the ancient Aztec Ladybug wielder Micazoyolin and his Black Cat Mistontli
    • he's deuterocanonical in that Thomas Astruc created him
    • she's deuterocanonical in that Feri Gonzalez created her; Feri is an official source for ML stuff in some matters but not others and it is not clear which this is

  8. the feudal-Japan Ladybug wielder Tentomushi
    • she may have known the feudal-Japan Monkey wielder Sasuke Sarutobi
    • they're both probably centuries after Tomoe Gozen, probably a Dragon wielder, definitely from the Heian period

  9. the ancient Chinese Dragon wielder Hua Mulan, some centuries before Tomoe Gozen

  10. the historical Central/Southern African Ladybug and Black Cat wielders Mudekudeku and Nyeusi Simba
    • she's Word of Astruc, he's Word of Feri
    • her transformation is mostly body paint and a skirt, which is in line with Himba customs on female clothing; his transformation makes him a black lion, like he is not even vaguely human-shaped, how many times do we have to have the conversation about racism in this show's character designs?

  11. the ancient Vietnamese Ladybug wielder Bọ Rùa

  12. the Mexican Ladybug wielder La Mariquita; she's probably the last one before the Temple fell in 1844

  13. the 1500s Korean Ladybug wielder Mudangbeolle
    • in "ghost of a chance" I also invented her Fox teammate Yeoubi

  14. the 1200s German Fox wielder the Pied Piper of Hamelin, yes I am serious, wtf Astruc

  15. the early 1700s French Ladybug wielder La Coccinelle
    • her being famous bisexual swordswoman and opera singer Julie d'Aubigny is not my theory, but I'm running with it
    • we have a Word of Feri design for her partner, which in no way contradicts my saying in "ghost of a chance" that this Black Cat, who I named La Bague du Chaton, is Julie d'Aubigny's second famous love, Madame la marquise de Florensac, and it took a truly annoying amount of poking about the internet to find her name was Marie Louise Thérèse de Senneterre de Châteauneuf

  16. for completeness's sake I should probably mention the ancient Celtic probably-Deer wielder Cernunnos, the ancient Chinese Monkey wielder Sun Wukong (who may or may not be the same Chinese Monkey wielder mentioned earlier), and the ancient wielder of a Miraculous not otherwise specified (except not Ladybug), Jesus
    • you may notice these three and Herakles have a common theme; please note that the fandom didn't get upset about three of these Gods being reduced to Miraculous wielders until the Astruc tweet that did the same thing to Jesus
    • (full disclosure, I'm plotting a fanfic that postulates Mary of Magdala as a Ladybug wielder, because at some point I have to actually use my line about "the original scarlet lady", with Jesus as her Black Cat)

  17. in "ghost of a chance" I invented the ancient Caribbean Fox wielder Kwiyé Wouj and Turtle wielder Mòlòkòy

  18. I'm certain every Ladybug wielder mentioned above without a Black Cat does in fact have a corresponding Black Cat

  19. and of course you know of Eagle wielders Gilbert du Motier and Lafayette
