chanter1944 | on the marsh for the weekend

I was intending to go up this weekend anyway, but then the SCOTUS decision came down. I blew my top on twitter, then tapped out. The twin fire hoses of frustrated, exhausted fury and white supremacist pseudo-Christian wingnut BS were too much for me to take.

I intend to mostly stay off social media this weekend. DW is an exception, especially as I plan to keep my Write Every Day streak going. Twitter is properly out; I can't take the gap. I need to get away for a while, and for me, that usually involves heading for rural Wisconsin. I intend to get out under the trees and properly, chase DX, swat mosquitoes, bike all over the place, pick strawberries before the sun has risen, hug my nephew (my nieces are in Florida with family or I'd hug them too), plant sunflowers and herbs, sleep in the camper my folks are popping up in the driveway before they take it out on actual camping trips (it's a thing I do), geocache, play with goofy puppydogs, and generally escape the doom and horror.

There will also be a food pantry donation. It may not be fancy, but dammit, I need to do something to poke evil in the eye.
