I went out to water my hot pepper plant this morning (benefits of having a balcony) and found, to my dismay, a few torn leaves, some disturbed soil scattered around, a shallowly-buried broken acorn shell, and no sign of either the large pepper my plant had been growing or a couple of the more promising sprouts. In other words, some stupid squirrel munched my dang peppers!

Grrrrrrr. :(

At least the plant itself is still happy and green? ... Grrrrr, dang squirrel. I hope it gets the hot pepper poops.

The squirrels strike again! I am sorry it took your pepper and the shoots, and left you just an acorn shell; the ones around here like to dig up my window box annuals and drop walnuts everywhere

Holy crap. We didn't know squirrels eat peppers!
We once grew peppers, and went out one morning to pick one, only to find something we thought was a pepper, only slightly squishy and ridgy. Turns out we had tomato bugs.

Definitely. I'm hoping a couple more sprouts happen this year, and if I can keep the darn pesky resourceful flufftails off them... :P
