oh shells, here we go

Approximately a third of my possessions are in boxes, with more joining the tally all the time. By this time Saturday, if not tomorrow, I should be in my new place.

Aaaaaaah!

This is, when I think about it, a much better move than the previous one. For a start, I've actually *seen* the apartment I'm moving into, so there are no nasty structural surprises waiting. For another, I'm leaving the domain of silly undergrads and their terrible decisions. No more contending with people smoking up, yelling nonsense or just WOOOOOO at all hours, attempting DIY bidet installation and fouling up, stealing mail when plastered... Yeah, this is a good move, overall.

The current apartment, the one I'll inhabit for another day and a half at most, never told me its name. :( I thought it was Molly's Hall at first, thank you old radio shows, but that never quite stuck, and considering everything that's happened since (two floods and the attendant drywall and mildew messes) I'm rather glad.

I will miss some aspects of downtown, though I have reliable bus schedule info from a friend who used to live on the near west side, so I won't be without my favorite little coffee shops and Saturday farmers market hauls.

... Frak, things are a bit surreal over here.

It *is!* Unpacking is far easier, in my experience, once you know where you're going to stick everything.
