Because it's vital, and because people are making their efforts plain on the subject more than usual this year, to which I don't object a single bit. :) I voted near the end of September. I requested my absentee ballots for all three of this year's elections waaaaaay back in the spring, because pandemic, and because my current polling place is a pain in the butt to get to. I mailed the April and August ballots within plenty of time for the respective elections, but dropped this latest one off at the city county building in person. Madison's been excellent on that score; they have an employee present, outside the building, for ballot collection, wearing what I'm told is a bright yellow vest and either carrying or standing near signage. The employee checks that everything on the outside of the absentee ballot envelope is good to go (mine was, as were the three or so unconnected people who also dropped theirs off in the brief time I was present) and answers any questions. I've since tracked my ballot via the state's voter website, and it's all set for November!

The worst part by far was navigating the construction on Doty Street, honestly, not anything to do with the election.

Doty Street seems to be schedule for construction until 2050!

We were able to deposit our absentee ballots at one of the 200+ "Democracy in the Park" stations which ran for the past two weekends.
