I'll tell you what's an excellent birthday present: The mildew smell is *knocks the heck on wood a bunch* gone! YAYYYYY! Maintenance came in with some mold annihilator/mildew killer spray, sprayed thoroughly under the wooden divider wall that separates bedroom from living room, and almost immediately I went... hey, all I smell is whatever that is, and it's not unpleasant. They left a dehumidifier in here overnight on Wednesday night, and the combination seems to have done the trick. Thank the lord! I'm a supersniffer with a preference for a clean home. I'd rather my place smell like coffee and candles and whatever I've been cooking. This is a huge relief.

In other news, working from home is going well so far. I'm getting the phone connection set up early next week; it was originally going to happen yesterday, but on Wednesday the mildew situation hadn't yet been definitely sorted out, and I didn't know if more work was going to be needed, so had to reschedule. Easing back into things by way of e-mails is fine, in the meantime.

Thinking I'm going to go and get a flu vaccine for another birthday present. Happy birthday, you are far less likely to catch or pass a nasty virus. Sounds good to me! That, and a large mug of Asian-style milk tea, because yum.

is a new word to me, although it's meaning is evident. I'm so happy to hear your schnozz is getting a break.

Boba tea? Johnson or State?

I have heard "supertaster" for people who are particularly sensitive to bitter elements in a dish, and/or to whom cilantro tastes like soap
