This exchange came to me a few minutes ago, and it's too darn cute not to share. I'm not entirely sure where in the Not Alone AU series it'll go, if in fact it fits anywhere, but at the moment, I'd hazard a guess at Tsurugi Tomoe being the person to whom Émilie's thinking she needs to reveal. These two are just... too darn <3! I may be having too much fun with the differing frames of reference thing...


"I'm alright, mon ami," Émilie says, and one might be forgiven for mistaking the desperate certainty in her voice for confidence or casualness. "I'm about to blow my cover."

Duusu, in midair, backwings hard enough in surprised dismay that he nearly goes head over talons, and rights himself in a literal flutter. "What? Oh no! If something's going to explode, we should get out of here! But wait. You didn't set a black powder charge, did you?"
