An unexpected, pleasantly surprising double unit of platelets this morning meant I hit my 6-gallon donation mark one appointment earlier than expected. Yay! Red Cross west was busy for a Sunday morning, which is always good to see; more donors means, hopefully, fewer people dying or being miserable while alive, which I will never object to, ever, and if I do, anyone reading this and so inclined has permission to thwap me up side the head, virtually or in person. Met a pair of blood product transport volunteers while in the canteen after the donation was over, and as it turned out, they were a father- and son-in-law known to travel all over Wisconsin, Iowa and northern Illinois for that purpose. One hit 60 (yes, 6-0) gallons donated over the years, the other's currently at 105 (also not a typo) and going for the world record while he's still of age. I was boggled in impressed amazement. I still am.

Haven't done much with the latter handful of snowflake challenges, as I have no clue about a few and no brains for the others. The create a fanwork one is in sloooooow process, to happen eventually...

Unrelated to anything else, can the Chiefs please eliminate the dang Patriots next weekend? Seriously, I'm sick of seeing them win everything. Last year being the obvious exception, but since the Eagles just went out of contention...

I can't stand the Chiefs, but I can't handle the Patriots even MORE so YES PLEASE. JFC, I am so over the fawning love affair certain people have for the Patriots and their QB whose name makes me want to spit.

I'm so tired of him being called the greatest of all time. He can't actually carry the team by himself, they've lost when he's tried. :p

I'd prefer Saints-Chiefs just because Saints, but yeah, as long as it's not Patriots, I don't care quite so much. But that's kinda been my feeling all season, I just haven't ... gotten that into it this year. It makes me sad and I kinda wish I'd made more effort to watch games, but... *shrugs* Such is life?

Never mind the QB

What I dislike the most about the Patriots is their coach. He's a bloody rules lawyer who pushes every rule to its absolute limit and beyond, and tries to wipe away what he and his henchpeople have done by whining, "there's no rule against it", or "if you read it this way, what we did was within the rules".

Coaches I respect understand that the rules are what they are in the interest of establishing a fair contest decided by the players and their skills.

For that reason, the Patriots deserve an earlier start to their offseason.

See, I've been avoiding Patriots games all season (not hard, since I live in the South), so I wasn't sure that my impression from the last game I *had* seen was all that accurate -- namely that they're giving the Cowboys a run for their money when it comes to playing dirty and then trying to cover it up or rules lawyer their way out of it. I detest coaches who do that to teams, it ruins the game.

Nope. It's a Belichick tradition. Look up "spygate" (skanky videotaping) and "deflategate" (setting up the balls in your home stadium nice and (too) soft, the way your quarterback likes them).
