One unit of platelets and one unit of plasma donated successfully and in tandem! :D I've never been able to manage that particular trick before - it's a once-a-month option for platelet donors, and it's relatively new. I should hit the six-gallon mark within the next donation or two. :D Milestones or no milestones, I'm just delighted I managed to donate again! One scratched-up, healing eye is no problem, since there's no infection issue and thus no infection meds, and despite my nerves upon nerves about a possible infiltration (I am N-O-T an easy stick), things worked out. Score! That'll kick the old year in the butt, eh? Take that, evil.
The only downside to the day, if you can really call it that, was the outcome of the Packer game. Good lord. :( You can tell you're in a football-loving state when one of the blood center staff asks if someone needs anything, and gets a joking answer that what the person needs is a better offensive line. Heh. Yes, I was the one being asked, I admit it. We could do with a better defense, too.
And I have two whole days off work yet before I have to go back. Whew, I say!
