Date: 2018-09-21 12:10 am (UTC)Our father died as a parent less than two years later. My sister and I weren't surprised by the overtly misogynistic ignoring of his female children, but our brother was twice orphaned by the loss of his dad, one of his best friends.
Dad doesn't talk to us if we call him, barely says hi and hands the phone over to his racist, bigoted, transgenic, homophobic, and prosperity gospel following wife, who tries to convert us. We're Jewish, my teen is agender, and I'm NOT taking my offspring down to North Carolina to deal with bigotry from family and strangers there.
