Jun. 18th, 2018 07:33 pmSomething wonderfully warm and fuzzy, not to mention downright *beautiful*, if the tactile aspect is anything to go by, landed at my door today. :)
!!! :D :D :D! Thank you! Yes, you get a public note of gratitude (unless you'd rather not, in which case please let me know and I'll delete.) You earned it and how. :) The sizing is *perfect*, by the way.
For information's sake, and a signal boost for the worthy besides,
killing_rose graciously accepted a commission from me during
ysabetwordsmith's last Winterfair. The piece in question was a cable knit shawl in blue and silver. It just arrived, and it is marvelous. I plan to wear it to work, for the purposes of not shivering in the office, but not tomorrow - rainstorms.

Date: 2018-06-23 03:43 am (UTC)I have got one of *those* offices, brrrrr! I also have a coworker who runs warm where I run freezing. He usually has his fan going, and on the other end of the row my space heater's on!

Date: 2018-06-21 03:37 am (UTC)Also, I will now admit something: not only did I make up the pattern, I learned cabling specifically for this. And I've found I super enjoy it, so thank you!
As far the tea question on my journal, I tend toward tisanes and loose black when I have spoons. So given my energy levels, ones you sent were awesome!

Date: 2018-06-23 03:50 am (UTC)Re cabling: Oh my *gosh*! I am super impressed, a little guilty (I did *not* mean to drop an unfamiliar skill variation on you like that), and also glad on your behalf for the discovery that you enjoy it. I guess that makes me emotionally complex response gal--eek! Seriously, wow! Add to that list gratified, because I most definitely am that, all over again. :)
Re tea: Glad you liked! I am plot plot plotting. Fun plotting, not evil plotting. It'd only count as evil plotting to someone who can't stand tea.

Date: 2018-06-23 04:19 am (UTC)For a long time, I had a rule that I would learn at least 1 thing from any pattern I'm doing. I had gotten away from that this past year because of spoons. So I actually really enjoy things that push me into learning other skills, and I had been avoiding cabling because people had said how hard it was. When you said you wanted something with cables, my instinct of "new skill!!" kicked in. And then. Well, the sampler helped me just as much as it did you.
In retrospect I am laughing at myself because I learned short rows and lace work at a quick clip. Thus, I'm not entirely sure why i listened to people who think my love for short rows is absolute insanity, so.
(This comment is only possible because our house 18 year old is in the middle of his first project and we've had to institute that if I wouldn't critique his work for x or y reason, I can't do it for myself, because he gets anxious about me critiquing my own work, and thinks he has now fucked up. Plus side, I'm having to admit to myself that I knit awesome things. Given *my* anxiety, this is not my strong suit.)
But teal deer, this means I am super glad you actually pushed me on that, as I've already finished two other cable projects! (I also continue to be ecstatic that you love it.)
Tea is always awesome plotting! (Note: if there is barley or wheat or other gluten ingredient, it will kill me.)
