What does your town/city/locality look like (with or without snow)?

I'm in the heart of Madison, about five blocks from the state capitol. Madison is a mostly walkable big city, and I say mostly because the way this town's laid out, there are intersections with multiple streets joining, which often make for a gigantic, diagonal pain in the you-know-what! Lots of apartment buildings, offices and smaller businesses where I am, verging into iffier student housing, because I'm just on the border of campus. Songbirds in the trees during the decent months, at least one if not multiple pairs of sandhill cranes audible in the mornings,urban rabbits and squirrels boinging around with very little fear, and about a zillion friendly dogs and their people. If you take public transit or just walk around, you're likely to hear a half-dozen languages; English, Spanish and Hmong are common, plus Mandarin, possibly Hindi or Marathi, and occasionally French. Don't cross West Washington without a careful second look--that road is ridiculous!

Did you go to school after high school? If yes, how was that experience. If no, has it been hard not having that background?

I did! I'm a UW system grad, Whitewater, to be specific. The experience was a positive one overall - I did graduate, and Whitewater's disabled student services are quite good, upholding their reputation for the same - but I was in the wrong major, and realized it too late to do anything about it, as the major I should have gone for wasn't offered at that school. Long story. To this day, I regret not telling my parents to chill the frak out and going to Madison anyway. I'm still salty over that one.

*Chanter-somethingorother has been my online handle in some form or other for ages and ages - 1998 was when I first used it, I think. It was originally intended as a world music reference. The greenie aspect of my DW name comes from my playing a greenrider on a Pern MU* when I created my LJ. One of her weyrmate at the time's nicknames for her was greenie, and thus it got incorporated. Chanter is in fact what I go by online, to the usual exclusion of my RL name, so you've got it entirely right! :D I seldom give out my RL name online unless there's the swapping of, say, physical addresses involved. I'm to the point where I'll answer to Chanter if someone calls me that RL! Heh.

@Kae: I'm a cat lover, and have been since I was a teeny squirt. There's not much better than sitting down and ending up with a surprise!lapful of fuzzy snuggly purrball. XD My much-missed, dearly-loved guide dog turned me into a dog person, though, especially the big wiggly friendly ones. He was a lab. :)
