*Comments, kudos, and the occasional bookmark, all over on AO3. I know I haven't got much there at the moment - I'm Chanter there, for reference - but I'd love to know if people are liking what I do have posted. Ditto comments to fics posted here, especially the orange!verse ones.
*Fics set in Sherwood Smith's Wren's War universe. This is an old favorite from childhood, as evidenced by the squee fest I had a few entries back... Basically, anything in that setting, so long as it's in character for everyone depicted.
*Crossover fics between the Star Trek universe (the prime one, the one that includes TOS/TNG/DS9/Voyager/Enterprise, and I will also list Excelsior in here because you know they had soooo many adventures of their own) and the His Dark Materials series. There are a couple of these, but I would love to see more. Bonus points for all the IC crew interactions, human and daemon, all across the board, and if we're going the TOS route, I mean this especially among the folks who aren't part of the triumvirate, although I <3 McCoy.
*Speaking of Trek, specifically DS9. There was one earlier episode (with a name I forget) where aspects of Bashir's personality manifested as different characters - Dax was, I believe, curiosity, Quark was fear, someone else was enthusiasm. I won't spoil the plot, but as a not-quite-incidental aspect of the setup, Sisko was chosen to represent the doctor's professionalism. So basically, we got a few seconds of Sisko in skillful, warmly professional doctor mode, working in the aftermath of some sort of accident. Will somebody pleeeeeease write more of that, PLEEEEEEASE? Whether it's an alternate universe with divergent roles for the usual senior staff and regulars, a continuation of that scene, or what, I do not much care.
*Minor character love! Not as in pr0n, just as in visibility. The people who almost nobody notices deserve stories of their own. Ilia, Laris, Sonak, Comas the threadmage, all the escaped Bolvangar children, Douma the former Camelgut gang member, Ensign Tyler... I could go on. This one applies to just about any fandom anywhere.
*Also not quiiiiiiite as in pr0n, at least not traditionally. Acespec!fic, or fic that could be read that way even though the ace/grey/demi orientation of whoever is not specifically named, with kinky elements. If it's in character, so, so much the better. Please don't shoehorn it in. Bonus points for negotiation happening on screen. This is another one that applies to just about any fandom anywhere.

Btw if you're looking for Acespec!fic you might want to go looking in the Sherlock BBC fandom! I know I read a couple ace!Sherlock / demisexual!Sherlock fics a couple of years back. They were on AO3.

Date: 2018-01-06 02:44 am (UTC)I haven't much delved into Sherlock fandom, as what I've seen of modern!Holmes in the few fics I have read has been... well, I haven't been too sure of him. Modern!Watson's more my speed. I'm willing to do a little more sniffing around, though. Cheers! :)
