Took today off, because I was offered it and pounced; I badly, badly needed it, what with K the awesome coworker's family tragedy throwing everything at work for an understandable loop. That poor woman and kiddos... For explanation, K's husband died unexpectedly on Valentine's Day, of a lightning fast and almost always lethal illness. :( :( I do not in the slightest resent K being out, because what kind of class A prime example of a jerk would I be if I did? But wow do I ever need the vacation day! So, had last Friday off and did absolutely zilch. Have today off as well, and have already done considerably more.
I bit (heh, go figure that phrasing) the bullet and scheduled a dentist appointment for today, made deliberately for the early morning so as to get it over with. I was fairly sure, going in, that I had myself a darn cavity that needed filling. . As it turned out, I had a relatively minor, easily-fixed chip out of the mildly ouchie back tooth instead, no idea how that one happened. A filling was still the end result, and I will say, that process has gotten quicker and easier than I remember it being as a teenager... when the same tooth on the opposite side of my mouth had a very similar issue. Still not a fan of the darn local anesthetic needle in the jaw, frak ow, but I've dealt with far worse. Now it's the 'feeling restored to mouth, get used to minor changes in tooth detectable with tip of tongue' phase. Been there, handled that.
Now, there shall be more coffee, rare daytime weekday DX, and later on, cheering on the Badgers as they beat Florida! One can hope... Well, if you're me, one can hope her bracket isn't busted by the end of the night!
At least this tooth isn't busted. I know, that's a reach for wordplay. :) Still.

Date: 2017-03-26 12:36 am (UTC)Dentistry *has* improved. i've given up on anesthesia for dental work. The worst part is the pressure & noise & vibrations, which the Novocain doesn't address anyway.
