chanter1944Okay, were the designers of this latest livejournal release thinking at *all* when they disabled both subject lines and icon dropdown menus in comments? Aside from being a massive pain in the ASCII, so to speak, the lack of subjects makes it virtually impossible to find anything in a given thread or set of threads. Bloody marvelous for a post with multiple conversations, that. What's even worse, the icon switching interface in comments is literally impossible to use with a screenreader. It is completely inaccessible. The icon dropdown menu appears to still be around when creating entries, which is something, but if I'm commenting, I'm stuck with my default. I like my default plenty or I wouldn't have it around, but the option to use something else would be extremely nice to say the least, especially with RP journals. Heck, with this journal.
If past patterns of behavior hold, LJ won't do a thing about the thousands and thousands of users who're now up in arms about this. I'm not exaggerating that number, either. Thanks ever so for the dialogue with users, livejournal. I may as well be talking to a wall. Have you been taking lessons about conversation from the Walker administration?
For now, this journal stays. I have seven plus years of content here. Sariel's journal stays too, as there's no way in heck I'm abandoning Milliways. None. But I'm chanter_greenie over on dreamwidth as of about five minutes ago, and I'll be importing this journal's content over there as well as keeping it here.
