how incredibly fitting
Feb. 27th, 2011 08:24 pmFourteen days, fourteen senators, and we all peacefully hold the line. No violence, no trouble, definitely no thuggery or rioting. I'm not there, but eye witness reports have protesters inside the capitol continually walking up to on-duty cops and thanking them. This is my state, by God, and I love it more and more every time this sort of story gets told.
People are not being cleared out of the capitol tonight, so says WEAC, and that's a good enough source of information for me. Granted I'm biased, but still. It's plenty good enough. We hold the line, and we're nice about it. This is my Wisconsin. So, so much love and awesome. :)

Date: 2011-02-28 04:51 pm (UTC)This might have been the least violent but more important protests/demonstrations I can recall, especially for the number of people who are involved, and that people on opposite sides seem to be able to "get along."
Keep up the civility, Wisconsin! I knew I liked you for a reason beyond the frozen custard and football team....

Date: 2011-03-01 04:59 am (UTC)As for bad pennies in every group, you're totally right. The amazing thing is, the people spouting off usually get talked to/talked down by the majority, which is equally awesome. So many people are advocating nonviolence/peaceful reactions to things here. So much awesome, seriously. :)
