Half pickled? Not yet, I'm not!

Anyway, my first pickling attempt did not go badly, though I realized, on trying one from each jar, where I'd erred. I forgot to decrease the amount of both water and vinegar in play; the original recipe uses larger jars than I have. This got me diluted brine, which means I have what are closer to spicy cucumbers than true pickles. Whoops. They're not bad, though. The ground hot pepper I added to the spice mix definitely soaked in!
Come this weekend's farmers market, I'll be making a second attempt.
