Well pickled, um...

No, not that kind of pickled. :P I have two jars of pickles chilling in the fridge. I'll know in two days whether or not I screwed up one or both. I've been meaning to try my hand at pickling for ages, and I finally got everything I needed together, so tonight I said why not?

This is absolutely a test batch. The recipe I used is from the Internet, though I tried it with smaller jars, smaller corresponding quantities of brine, and fewer cucumbers. I also varied between jars; one holds whole cucumbers, the other slices. Really hoping both turn out, but if one doesn't, I'll know what not to try again. If neither jar turns out, then it's time to find another recipe.

My apartment currently smells like cucumbers and brine. :D
