chanter1944: a house and road blanketed in snow (Wisconsin winter: buried in snay)
The people have taken the capitol back. Too bad the *curses* GOP made a potentially illegal, absolutely reprehensible move to prompt it. 18-1, with literally two hours' notice, in favor of a version of the budget despair bill supposedly with fiscal issues eliminated... which begs the question, how the hell did collective bargaining stay in there? Governor Walker, wasn't it you who claimed this was a fiscal issue all along? In person and in writing, no less? In the words of Jack McCoy, were you lying then or are you lying now?

I'm inclined to think you were lying then. Just like you and the majority of the GOP have been doing all along. Shame, shame, shame! I normally wouldn't say this in a public forum, but you lying, cheating, underhanded bastards! Does any one of you have a conscience to speak of?

Actually, yes. One of you does have a conscience to speak of, and for that, Senator Schultz, I thank you. You're a much better man than I initially gave you credit for being. Thank you, sir.

To the other 18, and to Governor Wank--excuse me, Walker, I have only this to say. The second-to-last reference takes a knowledge of 1989's revolutions. The last one takes a knowledge of DS9. Neither should be surprising in the slightest.

GOP, What you've done is an insult to me, my family, my friends, Wisconsin's children, Solidarnosc, and Edmund O'Brien. It. is. on.

I'm not crying now, but I'm close. I'm *furious*. I'm freezing. I'm in this for the long haul, and by long I mean years. If Walker wants a fight, we'll give him a fight. There are rumblings of a general strike, and if that happens, you're darn *right* I'm in. You do *not* trample the people of Wisconsin and expect us to take it. We. shall. rise.

The Assembly meets tomorrow morning. Pass the word.
