Here, I'll prove it. I'm boosting this particular bright signal that much further. In short, help_haiti is made of nothing but pure, undiluted awesome. I only hope my contribution(s) live up to the standard. My thread is right over yonder.

Boost it far and wide, folks. Not my thread. I mean the whole thing. Anybody who was with me in darkest Colorado* last year will get this reference. When I first heard about the earthquake, my first thought was literally 'Oh shit, Carry's family.' Swiftly followed by 'Oh shit, is he still in the US?' Miah, have you heard from him at all, by any chance?

*Sorry Viv! Nothing against your state. the summer of 2008 was a... well. It's a long story.

I joined and offered some custom calligraphy. My husband's parents emigrated from Haiti; he still has family down there, and that plus the absolutely appalling reasons for the horrific poverty have really made this something close to my heart.
