chanter1944This ficlet is looooong overdue, and for that I'm sorry, Tarii. this's another one written for a WZZT art trade, only the recipient owes me nothing at all in return. I hope this fits.
They say brevity is the sole of wit; they're wrong, at least the way Falen sees it. Then again, what use is being witty anyway? He's plenty clever without the amusing asides and puns, thank you very much. That, at least, he'll admit. He knows he isn't much to look at - grey and green? Come on. He knows just as well that nobody wants much to do with him, and he can't frankly blame them without feeling even worse. Ahran--well. He's a special case, outcast that he is. That says plenty in itself about Falen's own state of being, at least to the ainu's mind. Falen knows he isn't much wanted by anyone.

A dozen other, far more desirable puppies, a karelian sire and his dazzling dam to boot, and Tariq picked him to talk to? Well.
