Yes, I've just made use of a lovely classical quote in a horrible way. That's the worst 'Mad city' pun I've ever heard, and there've been a few. Aaaaanyway...

I'm in Madison! And I have an apartment! The walls are bare just at the moment, but that'll be changing; there will be B7, Trek and fourth era Doctor Who posters soon, to be sure. This place also needs a name. [livejournal.com profile] mistful called hers 'the death trap', and I love the idea of naming a flat, so. Suggestions? It's tiny and rather dumpy and college-y, but it's my own personal free space and I like it rather a lot for that fact alone. Description will follow as I make it more my own. There's a lot of tan (some of that was here already, and some just happened) and dark blue (same story) so far. There will be all sorts of blues, silver, and the live sort of green in the near future, among other colors/things.

The job's going alright, though today was rather rough contribution-wise. Eh, crap (and snooty rich neighborhoods) happen. I'm learning that that's actually the case, gasp! My coworkers are pretty darn cool, all in all; no problems with my being out at work are likely. As in, I'd be incredibly surprised if anybody was bothered, seeing as at least two of the ten of us are out already, three if you count me. And one of said cool coworkers has asked me for my phone number. More than once, even. *boggles*

I've still got to ask my landlady about kitties, and work on her a bit if she's not thrilled at the idea initially. Yes, Daisy-kitty, I'm trying hard to adopt you. Lords, now I miss her even more.

In not-quite-Madison related news, there's likely to be a trip made to a geocaching event this weekend. Yay! Definitely looking forward to putting names to usernames there, aside from the few folks I already know - hi, Jim and Linda! I'll have to tell Christopher that street canvasing on the square on Saturday's a no go until next weekend, as I forgot about the event until Mom rang me tonight to ask about staying over on my couch Friday night and then driving us both back north for Saturday. Ah well, that'll be my Saturday in a week and a half, then; farmers' market on the square, then street canvasing, then... hmm. We'll see.

Living literally day to day work-wise is iffier than I expected, but being in my own place and actually working at something I enjoy does quite a good job of dulling those jitters somewhat. Not entirely, but somewhat. Thank goodness for constants - fic (must write more of that!), SouCon (must RP a whole bunch!), fandoms of all sorts and crazy dreams. The pleasant crazy dreams, at least. And my torch. Well. Loaded as that one is, it's still a constant, and I'm still thankful for it and how.

Oh great, now my sleep schedule's just as messed up as it was in Waupun. Oomph... Guess who's just going to stay up and sleep after work tomorrow instead? That should sort it. *smirks* Should, anyway. :)

My housemate and I call our apartment Camelot. Because it is a silly place. Um, if that's of any help to you.

Geocaching, nifty! That's one of those thing I keep meaning to get into sometime, though I haven't ever. Have fun!

Best of luck with the cat! My fingers are crossed for you.
