just call me the library lady
Apr. 10th, 2008 04:04 amI honestly wouldn't mind that distinction somewhere down the road, I don't think. ahem. :)
There's a site out there, called Bookshare. It's basically one great huge blind accessible library full of downloadable books. I had a subscription a while ago but was a featherhead and let it lapse; I think it had something to do with having trouble getting files to read. but now I have both a clue and a distinct lack of accessible sci-fi/fantasy books about because... well. small town libraries and my off the wall (Dad's words, not mine) interests don't always mix, especially when one is working strictly in audio formats. so I renewed the subscription.
And I am so, so seriously glad I did! Because there's Neverwhere, and the Young Wizards series, and A Swiftly Tilting Planet, and good Omens and a lapful of books set in Garion's universe and about a zillion discworld novels and eeee! *dances about, beaming* Chanter the bookworm strikes again. :)
I foresee a crudload of late nights ahead, and only some of them will have to do with insomnia and/or university coursework. *solemn*
:D!

Date: 2008-04-10 11:37 pm (UTC):D and I know what you mean about bookshare. It's one of the places I check pretty much every evening to see if there's something new for me to read.
Also, I've probably told you this before, but if you ever need an ebook and can't find it on bookshare, let me know. I have several sources for ebooks and am known for being able to find most of the things I'm asked for. (a few exceptions are always lerking though.)
And I hear you're coming here! Yay! IF you have any questions before you come, just let me know.
