Title: Last Best Hope,, Part One

Summary: Drabble. Sisko made another trip to the mirror universe between through The Looking Glass and Shattered Mirror, while the Alliance still controlled Tarok Nor.
My first look at him doesn’t register.
But my second does.
His hair should be longer, I think and by the time I realize I’m openly staring Garak is glaring me down.
He’s noticed me. I keep my expression neutral until the intendant’s adviser makes an exit, praying that the ever-growing curious part of me hasn’t been seen.
“You’re not from here.” They’re the first words out of my mouth and they catch him by surprise and I read the truth on his startled face.
“O’brien talked about you. I’m girani Lara, I’m... um... not Alliance.”
At last, it’s said.
