It was laughable, really.

The way she’d make certain her uniform was hanging just so, or stare at her hair in the mirror over the bathroom sink and mentally plead with it not to slip out of place, as if by force of will she could make it behave. Or the way she’d fuss over her makeup until she was almost late for shift, then come tearing down the corridor praying that it stayed.

And the way it was all for Janice.

Every day, all for her.

She swore to herself it was absurd.

But she knew she was lying.

You know, I've never seen you write anything very long, but it's amazing what you sometimes fit into such a small space. And I think that was one of the best examples I've seen of that. You captured exactly what the char was feeling, so the rest of us could feel some of it ourselves. Good going.
BTW, what you said about never going on msn is true. lol I noticed you put an msn addi in your lj info earlier this week, but haven't seen you on yet.
