computer scare
Oct. 12th, 2005 10:48 pmYeah, I had one earlier today.
This morning I went to get on the computer briefly before I went to my second class, nothing new. And last night I heard the computer restart probably after installing some new updates or something. Again, nothing new. But when I tried to bring up my desktop I discovered that JFW wasn't speaking. So I said ok, restart and it'll be fine. I ended up having to have someone read what was on the screen since JFW wasn't working after the restart, and it said log on to windows and it needed a password. I have the system configured to log on to windows automatically and never prompt for a password. So I ring Dell tech support. And over the course of the rest of the afternoon there are about five different people who I have to ask to read my screen to me. And eventually it gets worked out but oh *frak* did that scare me!
But it's working now, so yay!!! And no files lost, so double yay!!!
Going to go learn from my experience and load a whole buncha files to Lina's site.
