(He holds - and still uses for his day job - a General, has since ... '60? he learnt in the Navy, worked his way up from a desk job in San Diego doing transcription to being a radar op on ELINT birds, and parlayed that into running the big 85' dishes used to track Mercury/Gemini/Apollo...)
Silly question: What sort of antenna does one use working DX? And once you find a signal to work, do you switch antennas to something directional? Or do you just swing a directional until you find something?
