Date: 2017-06-10 02:05 am (UTC)My own interest is partially familial, though I'm late to it; I never knew my paternal grandfather, but as it turns out, he was with Patton at the end of the Battle of the Bulge, and somewhere in one of my uncles' possession, there is a bronze star. These things are connected. He rarely if ever mentioned any of this to his children. It makes a girl curious, if not a little wary.
In a somewhat less serious vein, see icon. I'm a gigantic fan of the series Band of Brothers (that interest started late in college, I think), and I've adored wartime resistance and Resistance stories since I can remember. That last part's probably not all that surprising, eh?
