training day

chanter1944First day on the new job (!) went well. My coworkers all seem lovely, and my boss is very straightforward, which I appreciate quite a lot. I like knowing where I stand with someone where work's concerned, as reading vocal cues can leave me with the impression of something being up when in reality it's just an indicator of someone absorbed in their work or something similar. Nearly froze figuring out fire exits and meeting points; dang that wind! Never had a clue about some of the machinery. I guess now I know. Today it's computer setup and the basics of the programs we use for order entry, unless the computer's still in a knot.
There are so many C or K names at that place, it's going to be really fun keeping us all straight. We've got a Katie and a Kit (female), a Kasha and a Kayla, a Kim and a Kelly, and a Carlene and a me, and my actual name does in fact start with a hard C. Aieeeeee! :D Katie has a guide puppy, Quartz the wiggly black lab, and I was nearly licked to death when I met her. Of course, at that point I'd just eaten peppermint... :) I miss Bosco.
Tell me this sleep schedule gets easier, somebody? This whole staying up all day and sleeping all night thing is kicking my butt!
*careens off to the square* Here we go again. I honestly don't mind, tired though I am.
