Use a dang shower curtain. Were you raised in the open woods or something? You get a pass if you're accustomed to washing under waterfalls or similar, but somehow, I doubt that's what's going on here.

Yes, I've called my landlady. It's not a disaster of great flood of 2020 proportions, but there was water actively dripping from the ceiling. Come on, people! :(

Edited to add, after one eventful morning indeed: Turns out, it was not the neighbor above me causing the issue at all! It was a drain on the building's roof getting iced over, sending water dripping through everyone's exhaust. The overflowing toilet, on the other hand, was my doing, and I shamefacedly admit it. :( Everything's now been dealt with, roof and toilet alike, and I am not on the hook for an armload of money, which was my concern given... well, great flood of 2020. Yes, the flood was much more significant and all over carpet, where this was on tile and could be mopped up with a mop rather than a shop vac. Still. My landlady is a complete and utter sweetheart, as are our maintenance staff! The lovely landlady, on my asking what I owed her for potential dirty water contamination, goes, "This is such a common issue, but it's not common to you. Don't worry about it." Oh my goodness.

*cleans with disinfectant wipes, does laundry, is heckin' grateful*
