Help me, oh delightful circlethingie, you and your excellent ideas!

Has anybody got a suggestion for a screenreader accessible word count tabulator? I no longer have Microsoft Word, and LibreOffice's word count feature is an access fail. This stinks when you're trying to tally writing progress for a given day! It also stinks for drabble challenges, as I've just realized. Ah crud.

Any ideas? Windows 10 and Jaws user here, to get specific.
