Still out of order. Still not giving much of a darn.

In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (Or a few!) What makes it particularly appealing for you? What do you like
in fanworks featuring that trope? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Oh boy, here we go. There are probably a few of these that could apply, chosen family, crew bonds and multilingualism used for purposes other than sexytimes being three of them. But those... hit a little closer to home than I can handle tonight, so I'm going with another one. I will forever be a fan of the minor characters who nobody else notices. That ensign who got, like, three lines all episode? She has a story of her own, and I'll be delighted to tell it. The secondary character's older brother or sister? Nope, they're not throwaway plot devices, and here's how. That background character is so very much more than just someone in a crowd, and they get their own adventure too. To expand on [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's excellent phrase "Tell all the stories!" Tell all the stories, that link to other stories, that lead to other stories...

You just bet I consider whoever saw main character potential in Miles O'Brien and his family a genius. :)
