Behind the wheel of a literal ton+ of steel and plastic who backed their near-silent car out of an alleyway, ran right over the end of my cane, giving it a half-circle curve, and then drove off without showing any indication of noticing at all?

Get a flat tire.

That's a comparable, fixable, pain in the ass problem. If my cane hadn't done exactly what it was designed to do and met the obstacle first, and you'd consequently run over my foot instead, I'd be wishing worse on you. Probably cursing up a storm, too.

I'm going to stick my nose in the bank nearest the alleyway tomorrow and find out if they had a camera's eye view of that particular near miss. Not that I want to press charges or anything quite that drastic, more that I want to know if I could or should do. If they had run over my foot, you'd bet I'd be investigating with more vigor. What a jerk.

My sighted friends and family are so far reacting to this story with a lot less chill than I am. For me, it's... eh, it's frakking infuriating, but crap like this will sometimes happen. Such is living while blind. I know, for once, *I'm* the one with the chill... :) I did succeed in cracking up a coworker when I told her, at low volume, the thought I'd had about the semicircular cane. That is, "It's now as straight as I am!" XD

At least I didn't have a bag of groceries on my opposite arm this time. Yes, I said *this* time.
