baking, breaking?, and ballot-casting
Apr. 3rd, 2012 07:22 amThe brilliant: The ginger chocolate scones I got through the timebank are a smashing, nomful success. Mmmmm. Definitely buying from Porchlight again. It's a wonderful organization (local program that provides meaningful, usable employment to people who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to severe mental illness) anyhow. And it makes lovely scone mix. :)
The ouchie: This darn left arm is better, but still flipping painful. I have flexibility, but turning/pulling things from certain angles or bearing weight on it in certain ways makes me go ow! Frak! Today (yesterday, now, as DW crashed and ate part of this entry when it was initially going to be posted, blah!) in conversation, my boss suggested that I go in to an urgent care-type facility soonish, rather than waiting until the end of the week or next week as I'd thought about doing. He's got common sense for days, and his concern got me concerned... and now I'm honestly wondering if I've been walking about with a hairline fracture or something rather than just some godawful bruising. Now I think about it, all my other bruises from the clatter bang boom incident were gone a few days ago. Suppose I'll find out this afternoon. If I end up in a cast, I'm going to pull the eternal eight-year-old card and see if I can wangle a blue one. If I end up in a sling, I'm sure I'm going to feel the tiniest bit like Joe Toye.
The electoral: About to get out of here and go vote. I've been planning to do that well before I head to the clinic since the appointment got scheduled. Not voting in the Republican primary, because oof. I haven't got the stomach for it. I can appreciate the idea going round about voting for someone other than cold-hearted Romney to try and narrow the field a bit, but I just can't flipping bring myself to vote for any of that lot. In talking with the brilliant boss yesterday, I did say that of the lot, Huntsman seemed the least objectionable. Not that I agree with the man on much at all, but I'm admittedly partial to anyone who's openly bilingual. Still not voting for any of them, though.
Find suitable clothes, brush hair, brush teeth, go vote. :) Later folks! I'll let you know what's up with this darn arm once I know myself. Rather glad it's my off hand, honestly.
