Facebook and twitter crap? Crap!
Aug. 31st, 2010 11:04 pmTo echo at least two friends: Facebook and twitter reposting whatever go away go away!
I don't have anything to do with either site, and I don't plan to. the only reason I ever signed up for a Facebook account was to get access to a handful of forensics photos for a university project, and after the project was handed in, I never used it again. As for Twitter? I'm too proud of being chatty Chanter for that, say thankya. No offense at all intended to anyone who does use either site, but they're not for me. Lovely textual LJ for the win.
... Except when that lovely textual site sticks annoying reposting code in without asking anybody or giving anyone an option to disable the darn thing. That, in fact, is not for the win. That is for the lose, and *how*. Come on, lj. It's time to stop the attempts at a gradual transformation to shallowness. I mean, you're different from facespacetwitterwhatever, that's what I like about you. It's time you embraced that difference just a little bit. Jeez.
anyway. Check the comments to
lienne's latest post for a greasemonkey script that gets rid of the annoying reposting thing. It works; I tested it. The crap is gone! When I realized it had worked, the first thing I thought of was Professor McGonagall a la HP6 brandishing her wand at the Voldie supporters in the corridor, yelling "Take that!" and making them all run for the hills, thoroughly jinxed for their trouble. Ha! Take that, then.
I don't know who the script author is beyond an unfamiliar name, but Daluci? Xiexie ni.
