I don't *bleep*ing believe this!
They're canceling Westway.
Why in the name of whatever deities you believe in are they canceling Westway?
*fires a few well-chosen curses at whoever had the lame-brained idea to call off a well-loved serial drama in the name of a nearer to news only network and supposed shifting public interest*. Whoever has a screw loose over at the BBC and is giving a decidedly *bad* name to an otherwise wonderful organization, here you go: *bleepity bleep bleep*! As I sink a few levels to give what's deserved. Aieee!
Found this on the worldservice site, as people write their fantasy endings. It's not mine, I only wish I'd had wit enough to come up with this.

There can be only one conclusion.
Joy returns from Nigeria, having married Angus and coincidently discovered a cure for AIDS, to take up a new job as network controller of BBC World Service
intent on saving Westway and the many other programmes being sacrificed to the BBC's evil desire to make World Service Radio a news-only channel.
The irritating Blaze realises that she is not and never will be a good actress so returns home leaving Uncle Jamshed to sort himself out once and for all.
In the ensuing debacle Fizza gets his come-uppance.
Finally as Pope Benedict XVI dies after only a few months in office Father Gillespie is surprised to be elected as Pope Innocent XIV and the news that Father
Gillespie and Dr Margaret Sampson are to be married is not commented upon by the media.
The rest of the characters celebrate Joy's new role
by continuing to live in a multi-cultural area of London with all its inherent problems and the occasional success, with the listeners able to enjoy normal
life in the Westgrove area and the Westway Medical Centre
for a long time to come.

This last little bit *is* mine, as I'm not leaving billy and Janet out of the fantasy final episode. Near the end, the partners walk into the health center and proceed to show off their beautiful, healthy baby girl to the staff. And naturally, since Denny's the father, she's called Carol.
time for a carefully-worded letter to the worldservice...
