prelude to... something
Aug. 10th, 2004 12:43 amIndeed, prelude to something, not sure what.
Officially, it's one more week of classes till I'm off for two weeks, then back here for autumn term. I'm honestly not looking forward to the time off, even though classes *do* get either a touch boring or simply get to be a royal drag after a while. It means sitting on my rear doing squat nothing at home with little sisters and parents again. don't get me wrong, I love them all dearly and would likely fight to the death defending each and every one of them. But they drive me bonkers sometimes!
Er, rant. Whoops. There I go again.
At the moment, still trying to write poetry and a new piece for the upcoming forensics season. Let's see if i can avoid writing a sequel to Melanie. Ha-ha, riiiight. Like that even *has* a sequel beyond knowing if Chance lived or didn't live. Er... for anyone *not* going to UWW with me, the piece involved a car crash and a mother and son called Melanie and chance. And no, I'm not posting it here. Even cut it'd take up *space* beyond what I think anyone would find interesting. So there's that, coming up with a new idea. I think I *might* have a possibility, but I'm not certain I can take a section out of a much larger work without it sounding horribly disjointed.
Yeah, it's true. Amateur novelist=me.
And I still need to find a new headset as my old faithful one went crapple on me early last week. what a pain in the... neck, actually. I have to turn my head funny if I want to hear these fuzzy speakers with any clarity. I wish I dared crawl behind the desk and pull the plug out and just live with the laptop's internal speaker. *that* at least isn't garbled. Moral of story: external speakers in a room with an echo are *icky* with a screenreader. Music and radio do sound divine coming through them, I give that much credit where it's due.
Er, rant again. Eesh, me!
I'm going to stop all this babbling before I drive everyone either away or that much closer to insane. I'm off to write a couple more music emits for the Gather type thingie dingie Jaeni and I are hosting tomorrow night at SC. Weee!
