Pairings: hints of Geordi/Leah
Rating: PG because of one mild curse
Summary: Written because this pairing won't leave me the frak alone! Mild Galaxy's Child spoilers... Data and Geordi play chess and consider.
“I assume by your description of events that you were not anticipating her reaction to the holodeck program.” Data’s mild baritone voice was accompanied by the muffled clatter of a shifted chess piece, the android’s white bishop countering Geordi’s latest move.
“No way,” the engineer answered, considering the three-dimensional board as he spoke. “Definitely not. She still gave me a chance though, after she exploded at me that is.” The end of the sentence was punctuated by the motion of another piece, Geordi’s remaining knight.
“Is it possible she was... playing hard to get? Checkmate.”
“Checkmate? How’d you... damn. Maybe...”
