back Stateside once again

I will, and do hold me to this if I'm unable to get my thoughts in order within a reasonable time frame, lovely circlethingie, write up a longer post about the trip I've just taken, but for now, I'm back in Wisconsin. No vital luggage has been lost, misplaced, or left behind (WHEW!!!), no one's car battery died while sitting waiting in the cold (double WHEW!!!), and my rusty Spanish ended up coming in very handy, especially as it seemed to improve with use and time (YAY!). The air conditioning in the last place we stayed, which is a whole entire post in itself, combined with flying back to and then running around in ice cold, dry upper Midwestern air seems to have done a number on my sinuses, but oh well.

What'd I miss?

I saw that! Very glad you're on the mend, yikes to the yikes. And... one assumes those are never expected, unless maybe the condition's chronic and a doctor decides it's best to yeet the thing on a time frame? *guesses*

My furnace broke and we were without proper heat for a good five days, but it's been replaced and my house is nice and warm again. (Molly the dog was luckily already staying with friends at the time; it's been so cold around here that she outright refused to pee for three days, and only went when she had a dog friend with her. So she missed most of it. She did spend one night with us, when the first friend left on a trip and before we were able to leave her with a second friend, but I let her cuddle with me for that entire night, so she wasn't cold.)

I did see that, and what a miserable situation! Poor you and yours, and oh jeez, poor Molly! :(

Thank the lord for competent furnace replacement people and working heating!
