My furnace broke and we were without proper heat for a good five days, but it's been replaced and my house is nice and warm again. (Molly the dog was luckily already staying with friends at the time; it's been so cold around here that she outright refused to pee for three days, and only went when she had a dog friend with her. So she missed most of it. She did spend one night with us, when the first friend left on a trip and before we were able to leave her with a second friend, but I let her cuddle with me for that entire night, so she wasn't cold.)
