while I continue to battle mildew
Because the carpet under the stupid divider wall separating living room from bedroom (not actually a wall, as it's movable and, you know, not attached to the floor) is probably the source of the ongoing, if lesser, stink I'm still dealing with here...
Have a meme.
5 TV shows to watch to understand me:
1: Star Trek: Deep Space 9 (this was formative, but then again, so were TNG and Voyager; any or all of these could work for this option, really)
2: Miraculous Ladybug, but do so with your eyes closed
3: ER (this was a favorite of teenage!me, and many of my friends, and funny story, I was once told by a teacher that all her older, cognitively able blind students were big ER fans, because the characters were always talking through what the heck they were doing, back and forth to each other, etc)
4: Babylon 5 (especially season 1, not so much season 5)
5: not television shows, but the six original Trek movies, plus Generations are vital when trying to understand me
6: I could list off a bunch of both translated children's animation and Canadian kids' shows here, but that goes waaaaay back into the psyche of tiny Chanter and is probably deeper than the intent of this meme.

I remember getting to take her guide dog walkies!
Great fun.

Guide dogs are love. See icon for mine. Our university campus had, at one count midway through my degree, something like a dozen service dogs of various stripes, and all but one was either a Labrador or a golden retriever. So basically, we had all the sweet dogs forever. :) My best friend at the time had a golden service dog (Katie was in a wheelchair, Willow was essentially her hands) and she and my velvet fuzzball lab played together like siblings. Oh it was cute. If you couldn't find one dog, checking the other girl's dorm room pretty much always turned them up.

Alsatians scare me witless as I was attacked by one as a kid.

Re shepherds, ooh. I'm sorry that happened to you. Yikes! They can be fierce, including for the wrong reasons.

That's so interesting about ER! I was watching it because Alex Kingston was hot, lol.
Agreed on B5.

Re ER, color me predictable, but I only know actor names for about half a dozen of that cast, and the person you mentioned is not one of them. Who do they play? As for me, I thought Luka, especially early Luka, was soooooo darn dreamy. Susan occasionally pinged the cute-o-meter as well, and Gallant definitely did, because I have a type.

Luka took a far too cynical turn for my tastes later in his arc. Early Luka, though, wow. I always thought Carol should've left Ross in the past and gotten together with him instead. The hints were certainly there.

I stuck with the series through to the end, though I was not impressed with Luka's arc going so unremittingly cynical and dark. Can't say I was ever the biggest fan of Abby, either. "Freefall" remains one of my favorite episodes of the whole run, if not at the top of the list.

The exception to the audio description rule was what happened to Carter and Lucy; that scene had very little audible audio, because in-story, the music from the party was drowning events in the exam room out. Someone had to clue me in, and then I went... oh jeez! :( I do remember that they pulled the music from the 'previously, on...' clips at the beginning of the next episode, so you were able to hear what went on, including a badly-injured Carter realizing Lucy was also down. Shudder.
To this day, I can't hear that song without flinching. True story.
