while I continue to battle mildew

Because the carpet under the stupid divider wall separating living room from bedroom (not actually a wall, as it's movable and, you know, not attached to the floor) is probably the source of the ongoing, if lesser, stink I'm still dealing with here...

Have a meme.

5 TV shows to watch to understand me:

1: Star Trek: Deep Space 9 (this was formative, but then again, so were TNG and Voyager; any or all of these could work for this option, really)

2: Miraculous Ladybug, but do so with your eyes closed

3: ER (this was a favorite of teenage!me, and many of my friends, and funny story, I was once told by a teacher that all her older, cognitively able blind students were big ER fans, because the characters were always talking through what the heck they were doing, back and forth to each other, etc)

4: Babylon 5 (especially season 1, not so much season 5)

5: not television shows, but the six original Trek movies, plus Generations are vital when trying to understand me

6: I could list off a bunch of both translated children's animation and Canadian kids' shows here, but that goes waaaaay back into the psyche of tiny Chanter and is probably deeper than the intent of this meme.

I had a born blind friend, Judy, at uni and she was a fan of the very early star trek stuff.

I remember getting to take her guide dog walkies!

Great fun.

Guide dogs here are mostly labs or golden retrievers although I've seen the odd standard poodle and alsatian and even one labradoodle.

The Welsh border collie, our local sheepdog, is bright as a button and has a lovely personality but I suspect they'd be way too lively to be a guide dog.

Alsatians scare me witless as I was attacked by one as a kid.

I hope your maint people get the rug sorted out before you get actual mould :(

That's so interesting about ER! I was watching it because Alex Kingston was hot, lol.

Agreed on B5.

Oh lord. British surgeon, married Doctor Green, later played River Song on Doctor Who. Do not remember the character name. I also thought Luka was super dreamy.

Yeah, the later Luka plots weren't great. I think I bailed around when his stuff got so dire, and a couple characters I liked left. I've forgotten exactly when that was (this being some years ago). I did just realise that Dr. Gallant was Clay on White Collar though.

Oh, I loved ER. I never thought about the fact that it kind of includes its own audio description because they're always saying what they're doing to the patient, but you're right, it does have that effect!
