When you read modern AU fics in a fandom that isn't even one of yours, and you wind up quite enchanted by a character you're fairly sure would intimidate you if he were teaching you what he teaches in canon, but who charms the socks off you as a surgeon stepping in to save lives with very little warning... Then you know you are a fannish nerd, and it's a good thing you'd be a terrible fit for a water dancer.

When a couple lines in one of those modern AU fics you've been reading cause you to trip headlong over and into the idea that this character, in an alternaverse or two, is Portuguese, and both speaks and sings in that language with talent and skill...

Then you, Chanter dear, have reverted to dang type. Again.

\I've only read a handful of ASoIaF/Game of Thrones fics, and half of those have been downright silliness, but... Syrio <3, and it's a good thing I'd be a terrible water dancer. Ah shaff it. *topples blushingly off the Internet* Don't even get me started on a certain outrageous flirt of a nonetheless dreamy Martell.


I sense a fic recs post in the offering soonish. Oops. :P
