having now seen Miraculer

We have a canonical detransformation phrase for Rena Rouge. I did not imagine that would be it. ... Eh, it works.

The peafowl miraculous manifests feathers, as opposed to the butterfly miraculous's obvious means or the black cat's dark orb, as vessels for its empowerments? Ah. Do the feathers attach themselves to the person they're connecting to, i.e. what an akuma does, or do the sentimonsters form around the feathers, with the connection being an entirely magical, nonphysical one?

So the peafowl miraculous enhances and hones emotions at the same time it creates a physical manifestation of them, linked specifically to the person it's empowering (Auguste's lollipop monster)... I can work with that. I can very much work with that. And so can Émilie, though with positive emotions or intentions rather than negative ones. *works on this AU a bit more*

... Holy crap, Chloé got herself a ways along a redemption arc there! She fought off an akuma through sheer determination not to let Ladybug's faith in her be misplaced. Gal's got depths I didn't think she had. I'm really hoping that *isn't* the last time she's called upon to be Queen Bee.

Carapace: "Not on my watch!" <3! And did I mention <3? Because <3!

Awwww, Sabrina. Speaking of loyalty... I'm still working on a ficlet about wielder!Sabrina, as opposed to her with an evil ride-along. She deserves better than near-thankless sidekick duties again and again. And speaking of, what was that on-camera line of Nadja's about "sidekicks" Rena Rouge and Carapace? I hope Rena Rouge in particular didn't get wind of *that* one... Carapace might well take it mostly (mostly, mind you) in stride, but I can easily see a righteously ticked-off fox resulting, especially given how instrumental she was against Miraculer later on.

And, hmm. Hawkmoth is at least resigned to the peafowl miraculous being in use, damaged or not, since Mayura is active and actively working with him in this episode. Is she just another aspect in his plans now, or has he expressed further concern for/to Nathalie when the masks are off? I'd honestly suspect the latter, but I doubt canon will ever go there.

a play on "spectacular" would make more sense anyway!

Since the French name is M I R A C U L E U R, I'm guessing where we're actually meant to be going with this is it's a "one who verbs" type noun where the verb means something like "wields Miraculous power". As opposed to "performs miracles", which in English I think would be M I R A C L E R?

Apparently the rule in English is, to turn a verb into a "one who verbs" noun, add the E R suffix if the verb ends in a single consonant: V E R B E R, one who verbs. There are other rules for E R versus O R, none of which apply here. A R can be used for this purpose, but is much more commonly used to adjective nouns: spectacle, spectacular. I do not know the rules in French, but the verb we are attempting to noun here is probably more M I R A C U L something than M I R A C L E.
