Checking in from my parents' place. The whole house smells like cooking, so mmmm. Spent much of the day baking cookies, yum. That's only one side of the story, though.
Around one thirty this afternoon, all of a sudden we hear something go pop! and the next thing we know, out goes the electricity. Turns out a transformer we think? blew in one of the roads just over from this one, and most of the block lost power. Everything's been on and off intermittently since then, though things seem to be pretty well established as on now, touch wood. It's really quite amazing just how quiet a house gets when everything that's normally running shuts off. Ahem. Anyway, that's where I've been.
All electrical oddness aside, much love to the flist. Happy winter holiday of your choice to folks who celebrate, happy hopefully decent day in December to those who don't, and *hugs* to everybody just because. *scampers off*
